Hi, my name is Nicola and I am a self-taught artist and have designed the vast majority of all the items you see on the website. If it is not made by myself then this will be stipulated.

My inspiration is from the vast array of 'baubles' that I have purchased. I very rarely work from a pencilled drawing unless for a commission piece. I design by taking a handful of 'this and that' and working a bit of magic!

The true passion I have is for vintage beads and I have some in my collection that are 80 years' old. I love designing one-off pieces and my items are predominately that. I like wearing unique and individual items so enjoy passing this on to my customers. If I do repeat a design I alter it slightly to keep that uniqueness. There is exception to this, as on occasion, I  have repeated earring designs. I do not repeat commission designs without the consent of the customer.

I want people to be able to see things differently and then dare to be different themselves - that's what makes designing amazing.  The best designers are those with the power to create.  They are people who can make others feel good about themselves, and enable them to highlight their own individuality.  For designers, the urge to create is a prime motivating force.  Theirs is the imagination that visualises a completed piece; theirs is the satisfaction of seeing something they've imagined and made being enjoyed by another person. The thrill I get when someone is enjoying something I have made is like no other. My designs express my individuality, and pass on to you the individual wearing them.  All of our lives have so much of the mundane in them - that's part of living, so why not dream wonderous dreams? I create and pursue my designing in whatever form it may take because it gives me pleasure. My aims and hopes are that my designs will be enjoyed for years to come.

I work with lots of materials. Semi-precious gemstones, gold vermeil/gold fill and sterling silver. 9ct Gold is available on request. Swarovski, freshwater pearls, wood, glass to name but a few. All my materials are sourced from around the world and the UK. I insist on using quality items and purchase free-trade wherever possible. I won't use anything that I wouldn't use in my own jewellery. I do follow fashion but not at the expense of making high fashion pieces which quickly date. After all, who wants to look like everyone else? You won't find anything like my jewellery on the high-street!

COMMISSIONS

I do take commissions and it costs nothing to send me an email, with no obligation. The only condition I have is that I won't copy someone else's work. I do not feel comfortable in doing this and I certainly wouldn't like it done to me. If you have seen an item you like, I can design something with that in mind but it won't be a carbon copy.
All information given to me remains confidential and shall not be shared for any reason. Weddings and Christenings are a speciality. Please be advised to give me as much time as possible so we can work together to make your chosen piece perfect for you!
I will work with you by email and telephone to design something that meets your requirements. I will need to know as much information as possible, such as: budget, style, materials preferred and colours etc. I will then design something for you. If you wish me to send you the designs together with samples, I shall need these back before I commence work.
When you are entirely happy I will require a 30% deposit payable by cheque or postal order. This deposit is non-refundable should you choose to cancel once materials have been purchased and work has commenced. The full balance would not become payable in this event.
When the piece/s is/are finished photographs will be emailed to you. Insured post is in addition to the cost of the piece. Please see postal rates below. All commissioned pieces are  gift wrapped free of charge.

I do not exchange or refund on commissions simply due to their personal nature. If the item/s is/are for a gift then maybe a gift certificate may be more suitable. If, in the unlikely event an item/s is found to be faulty, I shall repair it free of charge for a period of up to three months. PAYMENT OPTIONS

If you wish to pay by cheque or postal order (UK only) then please contact me and I shall reserve your item for seven days and give you further information where to send the cheque/PO and to whom to make it payable. If you feel that you need more time to have your item reserved please just ask! Paypal is the fastest and safest way of paying for your goods. For further information please go to http://www.paypal.co.uk/ at no time do I have access to your details. You do not have to have an account with them and this service is free to you. If you are unsure of how to do this then please contact me and I can send you a paypal request which will guide you through how to send me payment. Thanks.

LAY-AWAY

A small deposit reserves any item for you. Make either weekly or monthly payments. Longer time can be given for more expensive pieces. If an item has been reserved and you fail to make payments on it you will lose your deposit and the item will be re-sold.

POSTAL INFORMATION 

Postage is in addition to the cost of your jewellery. If you live overseas please email me and I will see how much the cost will be. 
Prices for postage are as follows;
Up to £9.99 - £2.00 First Class Post
Up to £24.99 - £3.50 Recorded Delivery
£25.00 - upwards - £7.00 Special Delivery
I always get proof of posting for First Class Post however if an item goes missing you are only insured if it is sent Special Delivery. This is because Royal Mail only insure items of jewellery sent this way. In the event of a parcel going missing I will do everything to assist you and provide you with the proof of postage should you wish to attempt to make a claim. For more information please see 'T&C'. If you wish an item to be guaranteed by Next Day please use Special Delivery.
If you wish to upgrade to this service please select the 'Purchase postage & Extras' heading and select the upgrade. You can upgrade to Recorded Delivery and Special Delivery. An email will be sent when your item/s have been despatched.
I aim to send out all orders by 48 hours after cleared payment. If there is to be any delay you will be kept informed. An item can be held back in the event of a holiday please email to advise with plenty of notice and the date you require it to be sent and I shall do my best to assist. If you need an item urgently please let me know and I shall do my best to accommodate you. However, due to the sometimes unreliable postal service please use Special Delivery.
Gifts can be sent directly to the recipient on request. Overseas customers may have customs charges added to their postage by their Government upon receipt. I cannot be held responsible for these charges. If you need to check a price in your currency please try a currency converter webpage for up-to-date information. GIFT WRAPPING/PERSONALISED CARDS/GIFT VOUCHERS

Superior gift wrapping service All items arrive gift wrapped as standard. However if you wish for something specific i.e. Valentines Day it can be gift wrapped more appropriately. We use puffed hearts, sprinkles, tissue paper and ribbon. It is then placed in an organza pouch or box. This service is an additional £3.00 and can be purchased under 'Purchase postage & Extras' section.

Personalised cards can be sent with your gift. The message can be hand written or typed, it's up to you. A choice of pictures can be emailed to you and it will not be sent till it meets with your approval. If you wish for your own picture to be added and can be emailed this can be done also. This service is particularly useful if you are away on a special occasion and wish for the gift to be sent directly. All cards are printed on quality card. The cost for this service is £4.00 or £6.00 if purchased with the extra gift wrapping service. Please see 'Purchase postage & Extras' section. to buy this service.

Gift vouchers start at a denomination of £10 up to the value of your choice. They are printed either on glossy photo paper or card. Each gift voucher has a unique code and has to be redeemed within 12 months. They can be used as part payment or a commission if preferred. In the event of a gift voucher not being totally redeemed a credit note will be issued to be used within the remainder of the 12 month period. They can be transferred as long as I am notified of the new bearer by the purchaser. Delivery charges for the jewellery are not included in using a gift voucher these have to be purchased in addition.
You can choose to have the gift voucher personalised at no extra cost. Gift vouchers are available in the 'Purchase postage & Extras section'. Depending on the cost of the voucher you will be charge accordingly in postage. Either for Recorded Delivery or Special Delivery. They are classed as money so this is the safest way to send them. HOWEVER, should you wish to have it sent by first class post, please email me and not go via checkout. I can arrange this for you.
